Case studies
Real trials. Honest attribution. Numbers you can verify.
A working list of the biochar trials we cite — both the ones where Possible Agriculture Biochar was the product used, and the ones where a different producer's product was used and we want to give them their proper credit. The bridge line is on every one that needs it.

+2 L/cow/day in a South Australian dairy trial
Biochar at ~1% of mixed ration across four SA dairies, one with a standout result
~+2 L/cow/day
Milk yield at one of four trial dairies — ~$130k/year additional profit on a 250-cow herd
Trial: Rebbeck (2023) — independent Australian dairy trial
Product used: Mara Seeds Biochar
Possible Agriculture Biochar is higher-grade hardwood at higher pyrolysis temperatures than the product used in this trial, so we expect equivalent or better results — replication pending.
50% irrigation savings on a US golf course — for context
Biochar Now (California) case study. Different producer, different product — included here so the 50% figure has its proper home.
Up to 50%
Irrigation water reduction reported in the Biochar Now US case study
Trial: Biochar Now (Berthoud, Colorado) — US biochar producer case study
Product used: Biochar Now activated biochar
This result belongs to Biochar Now, not Possible Agriculture. We attribute it here for context. Our own Australian turf trials report up to 40% irrigation savings — see /biochar/turf-and-golf.

Your operation could be the next case study.
We're actively scoping pilot trials with Australian dairies, feedlots, golf courses, and councils. If you've got a paddock, a putting green, a parkland, or a milking shed where biochar might fit — and you'd be willing to let us publish the results — we'll often run the trial at a reduced product cost in exchange for the attribution.
Trial design is part of the offer. We help with the controls, the measurement plan, and the data review at the midpoint and end. We don't publish bad results either — if biochar doesn't work in your specific context, the trial stays internal.
